Job Description: 

Responsible to manage, supervise and collaborates the delivery of patient care in the assigned area on a 24 hour basis to ensure development and compliance with relevant administrative and clinical policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provides holistic nursing care to patients and families in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Leads nurses in the assigned area using transformational leadership, shared governance model and multidisciplinary culture of teamwork to foster a positive and safe healthcare practices, employee engagement and advocate patient safety and experience.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of scorecard and key performance indicators in the assigned area. Identifies issues that do not meet quality standards and creates action plans in collaboration with nursing quality and other key stakeholders to resolve these issues.
  • Collaborates with Nursing Saudization, Practice, Education and Research (NSPER) in developing effective educational programs designed to assist employees in their career development and in implementing best clinical practices using evidence- based standards.
  •  Leads resource planning process to ensure that the assigned area maintains an accurate inventory of required specific equipment and supplies.
  • Provides mentoring to line management staff (i.e. charge nurse) in the assigned area to develop leadership and resource management skills.
  • Directs and controls the departmental personnel functions of assigned staff including the recruitment, orientation, appraisals and recommendations for promotion or disciplinary action. Ensures that new employees, interns and trainees are given proper orientation and training. Assists and supports the staff in the identification, development, and implementation of their role according to his/her career development plan.
  • Maintains confidentiality relating to all matters dealt within the department. Uses great discretion at all times and ensure that no confidential material is released from the department to unauthorized members of staff.
  • Follows all hospital—related policies and procedures. Participates in emergency and disaster procedures. Performs other duties within the realm of his/her knowledge and ability as required.
Job Requirements: 
  • PHD Degree in Nursing.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Valid Registered Nurse Licence.
  • Licensed with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

  • Four (4) years experience in related field, after PHD.
  • Six (6) years experience in related field, after Master’s Degree.
  • Eight (8) to eleven (11) years experience in related field, after Bachelor’s Degree.
